We just completed some major updates to the studio, rearranging some of the sets and installing features to help capture new looks and poses. The studio is a constant work in progress. We know that a big part of the reason our clients choose us is that we have our own private studio. We strive to make it the best space to showcase you!
We show off the studio as we make updates on our social media feeds, especially on Instagram and in our ladies-only VIP group, but behind-the-scenes pictures rarely do our sets justice. To show off a new set, we rely on our Boudie Calls.
Boudie Call Client Benefits
A Boudie Call is one of the most common promotions we run, and yet also among our most exclusive promotions. A Boudie Call offers big discounts in exchange for a full model release. Every Boudie Call is limited to only 3-4 dates, and anyone interested in participating must fill out an application.
When we run a Boudie Call, our goal is twofold:
Offer a significant discount to clients who are looking to share their stories of growth and empowerment with our community.
Showcase a new set or try new techniques with clients eager to break out of the mold with us.
What does a client receive from a Boudie Call?
A Free Experience
Our Experience includes a ton of stuff, including hair and makeup and the studio to yourself for the entire day. The standard Experience Fee is $500. This is waived for every Boudie Call.
We do collect a $200 studio retainer at booking for a Boudie Call to hold your date, but you can apply the retainer as a credit toward any of our collections.A Free Bonus Set
Every Boudie Call showcases a bonus set. Everyone who participates in a Boudie Call gets that bonus set no matter what.
Normally the only way to get bonus sets is by pre-purchasing a collection. Some bonus sets are exclusive to our bigger collections, and some bonus sets like the Biker Babe set are only available at an additional charge. None of these restrictions apply when we feature a bonus set on a Boudie Call. Even better, Boudie Call clients who purchase a collection get their Boudie Call bonus set on top of whatever bonus sets they choose with their collection.

The first question on the Boudie Call application asks for your “why.” Anytime we advertise a Boudie Call, we get 30-40 applications, but as I pointed out above, we only reserve 3-4 dates on our calendar for a given Boudie Call. We aren’t looking for the best essay, just the best “why.” Yes, we want to showcase one of our studio sets or looks. That’s why we exchange the big discounts for a model release, but even more important to us is the opportunity to showcase you and your story.
Who can apply for a Boudie Call?

Seriously, anyone.
You do not need to be a woman.
You do not need to be thin.
You do not need to be a model or even look like one. In fact, you are probably more likely to get chosen if you do not look like a model because we truly believe that boudoir is for everyBODY and we appreciate the opportunity to showcase that in our Boudie Calls.
You do not need to know how to pose or be a boudoir photography veteran. We are going to take care of you every step of the process from application to product delivery, and that includes full posing coaching and lingerie selection.
Boudie Calls are open to all genders, ages (over 18), ethnicities, shapes, sizes, colors, creeds, and whatever else you can think of.
The only thing you do need to apply for a Boudie Call is to be comfortable with having your images shared on our website and social media platforms.
The Boudie Call Application Process
Applying for a Boudie Call is straightforward. Follow us online or subscribe to our newsletter to be alerted when a Boudie Call is being announced and to receive a link to the application on the designated date. The application is all done online, and we typically accept applications for about a week.
The “Why” Question
The first question is the “why” question I mentioned above. This is the most important question for us in choosing among the Boudie Call applicants. We want to honor you and your story in our photography.
The Automatic Disqualifications
Most of the questions on the application are simple yes/no questions. If you answer “No” to any of these questions, then your application will be set aside. It’s not personal. These are the business questions. We want to make sure that anyone we select understands these basic elements of our business so that we can reserve the Boudie Call for those that qualify:

This is the minimum age we allow in the studio for any kind of Experience.Awareness of minimum costs
As we pointed out above, a Boudie Call is not a free shoot. It is a heavily discounted shoot. Most Boudie Call clients save anywhere from $500 to $1200 depending on whether they apply their studio retainer to a collection and the value of any bonus sets we are featuring in the Boudie Call. We routinely get 10 times more applicants than we have spots available. Anyone who inquires with us for any kind of Experience is made aware of the studio minimum costs, but for a Boudie Call, it is important that we are only selecting applicants who understand and are ok with paying the studio minimum.Are you willing to sign a model release?
In exchange for waiving the Experience Fee and adding a bonus set, all Boudie Call clients are required to sign a full model release. This is how we get to showcase our work and your story. Nudity is typically not required for a Boudie Call, and in the rare instance where it is required, we will make that very clear in the application.Your contact information

The Boudie Call Setup Call
If you are selected for a Boudie Call, you will receive an email to let you know that you have been chosen and to schedule your phone call. This will be a 15-minute phone call to go over the details of the Experience and what to expect the day you come into the studio, select your date, pay your studio retainer, and answer any questions you might have. The studio retainer will remain on file for you to apply as a credit toward any collection when you set up your Boudie Bank later.

At Boudoir By J Anderson, we typically only run one major sale a year. We know that most people would not consider a Boudie Call a sale since we are trading a discount for a model release, and we would absolutely agree. We don’t really “need” to do Boudie Calls. About half of our clients give us some sort of model release anyway so if we are patient enough, we eventually get the images needed for sharing publicly.
So why do we run a Boudie Call?
Well, sometimes we want that model release because we want images of a new set in use for our website and social media feeds, and a Boudie Call helps us quickly gather a bunch of images on a specific theme instead of waiting for clients to choose that set organically.
Sometimes we want that model release because we want to try some new lighting or new techniques that we have been working on, and we want to find clients willing to experiment with us. We know that signing up for a boudoir shoot can be intimidating, and for some of our clients it takes the pressure off when they know we are going to be trying something new together.
But….the main reason we run any Boudie Call is that we want to create and share a story with you. It’s why we ask the “why” question. When we share a client image, we are showing off our work. When we share your story, we are showing off your work. That is why we are really here.
